pJ swing pretzel

Here’s a bit bigger view of the header pic. I’m signaling Jan with my empty right hand that I’m about to put it behind my back where she is to take it, ready to be drawn into a pretzel. Photo by Werner Funkenhauser, Highlands Today, 2014 January 10, Thirty years of dancing the night away.

While here, note: the leader of the Golen Era band is standing, taking a solo (just over Jan’s shoulder). There’s a mic and stand on the floor: yes, there’s a singer: like a thirteen piece band! Look at that reed section! The gal on the right is playing a baritone saxophone. Wow.

Music! Dancing! Wonderful! Great!

Healthy, fun. (But not beyond improvement.)
Live, be active, agile, rhythmic, for ever.

purpose update

Line dance (and ballroom dance) materials were moved to the LineDanceAlliance blog. New dances and dance steps and revisions will develop there.

There are social and political and personal comments and evaluations there that I will move here, maintaining two dance blogs. Nice goes there; negatives, grim and honest, go here: what’s wrong that’s improvable (or at least should be improvable)?

What occasions this change was a snafu at a dance Feburary 8. I was asked to teach a dance I didn’t know. I said I’d try to learn it in time, couldn’t guarantee anything. But it turned out the officer was also intending to ask other to teach, all the while intending to teach it herself. She was drafting multiple assistants, saying they’d be the teacher.

Bare with me, I may name names. I may assign aliases: I’m offering testimony, not trying to start a war, or get myself assassinated. I’ll cascade nonconvivial dance experiences spanning six decades: behavior less than suitable for survival: current experiences in Highlands Country Florida: both ballroom dance and line dance.

Meantime, I fell in love with the dance, Greek dance, folk dance, line dance: to Never on Sunday.

Line Dance Alliance

Last night I told the group at the Y of my plan to explore interest in offering line dancing, with instruction, more than one evening a week: outside the Y. Response seemed positive and spontaneous. Today I think of a name for the plan: the Line Dance Alliance.

2014 02 18 will update any minute now

2011 03 26: I did it! (I did it wrong!) I opened a new line dance blog: LineDanceAlliance!

WordPress.com processed my application in conjunction with my PKnatz blog: that’s about my life, my writing, my philosophy, my politics, my behavior; this 2FeetLineDance will extend Knatz.com’s section on HierCon Stories

Hierarchy vs. Conviviality Stories

Meantime: LineDanceAlliance achieved something last evening. The UptownCountry band asked me to supply them with a CD of the line dances I like: so they’ll be able to play them accurately. I’m going to help Sari, the lead singer, with her new computer. I’m going to be asking Jim & Sari to introduce me, as the LineDanceAlliance, at any dance they’re about to play a line dance at: then I offer to lead the dance, and offer choices of new dances to learn: to whatever venue they’re playing at. (That never panned with Uptown County, they weren’t rehired. I did the same though with Lora Patton at the Highlands Inn.

Meantime, I looked at a venue the other evening that just refurbished it’s dance floor. Very nice, though still a little rough: may need more than wax. I’ll make my proposal to that manager this coming week I expect.

2FeetLineDance

Hi, Paul here, also called pk, recently nicknamed Happy Feet: because of my dancing.
(This blog now also knows me by the user name “2goodfeet” and by “2Feet@Knatz.com.”)

pk dancing

That’s what this blog is about: dancing, line dancing in particular. I’ll report about a different dance domain and a different dance blog I launched a couple of year ago, but right now, the occasion of this new blog is the creation of my new line dancing class at the YMCA here in Sebring Florida. We’ve been having a wonderful time, I love the group members, and I want to repeat in print things I’ve said during class. I want to dance, not talk, during class: so, with a blog, I can emphasize, expand, and correct things said on the spot.

2011 04 01 The blog has been moved to LineDanceAlliance.
